Flame Retardant Agent (Fire Retardant Agent)
With the quick development of society, high polymer material was used in all fields of human daily life. However, the inflammability causes much more problems, especially to the life and property. Plastics are generally protected against flammability by the combined use of halogen hydrocarbons. There are many problems in the use of flame retardant, such as, corrosion of fabrication machines, emission of smoke and generation of toxic fumes during combustion. Therefore, much more attention has been paid to materials, such as, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, etc. for nontoxic and free of the mentioned problems.
Compare with aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, the latter one has higher dehydrated temperature (340 °C to 390 °C), higher hot melting (1.37 KJ/g to 1.17 KJ/g) and smaller attrition to the fabrication machines. Because of the lower dehydrated temperature, the aluminum hydroxide is unusable for thermoplastic resins like PP whose molten temperature is around 200 °C minimum. Hence, the magnesium hydroxide is good prospective flame retardant for most of the resins. It is a pity that the magnesium hydroxide must be modified, especially modified by complex modifier, to improve the consistency with resins and enhance the combination property.
On the basis of the pre-studies of xiang’s group, DLUT, we exploited the series products of AMH flame retardant agent using a continuous modification machine, the home-made particular complex modifier and high quality brucite non-modified superfine powder, produced by a full set of production equipment imported from Taiwan. AMH flame retardant agent possesses the following characteristics:
Low exhaust gas, non-halogen, non-toxic, environment friendly.

Decomposition of magnesium oxide is good refractory material, can also help improve the fire resistance performance of composite material, at the same time it also can be used as a release of water vapor smoke suppression agent. Magnesium hydroxide is recognized in the rubber industry which has the function of flame retardant and smoke suppression, filling the triple excellent flame retardant.
Widely used in rubber, chemical industry, building materials, plastics and electronics, unsaturated polyester and paint, paint and other polymer. Especially for mine air duct, PVC coated cloth whole core conveyor belt, flame retardant aluminous model board, tarpaulin, PVC wire and cable, mine cable sheath, cable accessories smoke flame retardant, antistatic, but instead of aluminium hydroxide, it has excellent flame retardant effect. Compared with other inorganic flame retardant type magnesium hydroxide, a better smoke suppression effect. Magnesium hydroxide in the process of production, use and waste no harmful substances emissions, but also can neutralize acid and the corrosive gas generated in combustion process. When used alone, the dosage is in commonly 40% ~ 60%.
